The main reason they hired us for the event was to document their awards ceremony and they had us take their group photos and take photos of all the award winners and print 5x7 photos immediately for the winners to take home that night. They were very please with the photos and I guess this is the first time they ever had them printed onsite which was to everyone's delight. This saved them a lot time by not having to print the photos themselves and then mail them out to everyone. Below are some of the photos from the event.
We were fortunate enough to have photographed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt again this week. This venue is one of my favorites now. We have shot here quite a few times in the last year and I feel like I know this place by heart. A communications company hired us to document their President's Club event where they celebrated their top sales associates and staff members. They hired us to produce a slideshow for their awards ceremony using the photos that their staff took throughout the trip. This task was not an easy one, having to sift through close to a thousand blurry and poorly taken images and finding the gems was a tough one, but the client loved the final product when they say it play on repeat all night. There was a big convention in town for physical therapists bringing thousands of people to the event. We were hired for the special VIP awards ceremony for the top contributors and performers for the year. We shot this at the Hilton Bayfront, which in my opinion, does not have the best wall patterns in their meeting rooms. Actually, I think the wall patterns are awful and are an absolute disaster for photos. But having shot here many times, I am aware and was able to talk with the coordinator to make the best of the situation. We had this awards ceremony in the morning and then shot their Gala event at night were the past presidents of the organization were honored. They had a roast of everyone which was quite entertaining, especially the photos they would put up on the big screen for the amusement everyone. We got to setup a photobooth as well which was a huge hit with everyone. We were printing 5x7 prints for everyone and putting them in nice folders that everyone got to take home for a keepsakes. It was a great event that everyone really enjoyed. Photos from the Gala at the SkyboxWe had the pleasure of photographing at the Omni Hotel again. The Omni is such a beautiful hotel with gorgeous natural light coming into the Foyer areas and is actually connected to Petco Park which is really cool. We were hired to shoot the awards ceremony in the morning and then did a photobooth for them on the Hornblower at night. Below are some the photos we captured from the event. There were about 140 people aboard all having a great time with a Magician, tattoo artist and even a cigar roller...and of course the consistent flow of alcohol. This group definitely knew how to have a good time...as you can see from the photobooth photos we printed out for them. We were printing 4x6's prints for them left and right, they were definitely the highlight of the event. Having the ability to offer your guests a keepsakes for the night is an invaluable gift that people take home and remember the night from. Nothing is better than a photo with a significant other or group of friends professionally taken by a photographer and printed out instantly and handed to the guests. Guests have a blast with having their photos taken and often want to have several photos taken. Whether it is a more formal setting an opportunity to have more fun with props and fun colors, it is always a great compliment to have onsite printing and professional photography at an event. Onsite printing in San Diego is a difficult task that not all photographers can offer. There is a substantial investment into very expensive printers, cameras, lights, backdrops and software...the software alone is $1,400, but is vital to ensure that guests receive high quality print products in the matter of seconds. It is also a team effort. A photographer can not do the job on their own, there needs to be at least 2 people and sometimes more depending on how many people are there in attendance. Next time you hire an event photographer for onsite printing make sure they have the qualifications and experience to deliver a high quality product, quickly, and with a smile on their face to ensure your guests are enjoying the event.
